CET is hiring certified bus drivers for our Ride Bend summer shuttle – wages increase to $16/hour on July 1!

COIC/Cascades East Transit is recruiting for eight (8) drivers to operate the Ride Bend Free Shuttle during the 2018 summer season. These are part-time, seasonal, union positions, with various shifts. The current wage for Seasonal Drivers is $13.73 per hour. However, effective July 1, 2018, the rate per hour will increase to $16.00! Apply now and be one of the “8” hired to drive the RIDE BEND Shuttles! The 2018 RIDE BEND service connects downtown Bend to the Old Mill District, OSU-Cascades, and Galveston Avenue.

The 2018 summer season will run June 29 through Labor Day, 7 days a week, Noon – 10 pm. Buses run every 15 minutes.

POSITION SUMMARY: Provide safe and efficient transportation services for Central Oregon public transportation passengers.  As the initial contact with the public, Drivers must be courteous and professional and be able to represent COIC in a manner that will maintain and promote the positive reputation of the organization. Drivers must be capable of dealing with a wide range of personalities, physical abilities and passenger situations. Must treat passengers with respect and understanding. Drivers will assure safety for themselves and passengers at all times. Drivers will assist in reporting, training, and quality assurance activities. Drivers are responsible for ticket inventory and the accurate recording of vehicle, passenger and other data.

LICENSING & OTHER REQUIREMENTS:  Valid Oregon CDL Class B, with Passenger and Air Break Endorsement, a Current Medical Card, a National Safety Council (NSC) First Aide/CPR/AED, a PASS Certification, and NSC Defensive Driving Certificate.  It is possible that COIC/CET staff can work with selected candidates to attain their required certificates.

 EDUCATION/RELATED EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or equivalent
