Regional Public Transportation Advisory Committee (RPTAC)

RPTAC members are appointed by the COIC Board of Directors help shape current and future transit services in Central Oregon. As a regional forum, the RPTAC identifies transportation needs of each Central Oregon community, educates citizens about the value of public transportation, and advocates for new and expanded services. This committee also provides a platform for citizens to provide comments about service expansions, reductions, or alterations.

The committee typically meets on the third Wednesday of every other month from 1:30 – 3:30 PM. Applications for new committee member appointments were accepted from January 14 through February 5, 2020 following a robust public outreach and engagement process. A scoring committee was convened to evaluate applications and the COIC Board of Directors will appoint new members during the May or June Board Meeting.

The Regional Public Transit Advisory Committee (RPTAC) meets to review, advise and assist the transportation program in its efforts to:

  • To help identify the transportation needs of Central Oregon residents.
  • To help educate the communities on the value and offerings of public transportation.
  • To serve as a forum where citizens can provide comments about service expansions, reductions or alterations.
  • To meet with concerned citizens regarding unresolved issues.
  • To advocate for new and expanded services.
  • To review future plans for services.
  • To consider and make a recommendation on transit issues presented to the committee.
  • To consider and make a recommendation on policy issues presented to the committee.
  • To serve as the forum for a rider to appeal a loss of a ridership privilege and to make a recommendation regarding determination.

RPTAC members are appointed by the COIC Board. All RPTAC meetings are open to the public. Recent RPTAC meetings incorporate members of CET’s 2040 Transit Master Plan Project Steering Committee (PSC). Transit Master Plan meeting materials are located at www.CETTransitPlan.com
