What is a neighborhood hub?
Neighborhood hubs provide amenities and connections that fit a community’s character. They are designed with input from neighbors and provide a safe and vibrant neighborhood gathering place that can include amenities like a coffee shop, food trucks, bikeshare, EV charging stations, Uber/Lyft connections, wayfinding, and greenspace. Public transportation connections are at neighborhood scale and expand even greater access to school, employment, shopping, healthcare and recreation.
Cascades East Transit (CET) and partners are exploring the development of a neighborhood hub that would serve southern portions of the City of Bend and Deschutes River Woods with amenities and different types of transportation services. A neighborhood hub makes possible more than a transfer point for buses, also including multimodal facilities and on-demand services to better meet community needs.

Proposed Hub Location
A lease of land owned by ODOT to CET is being considered for an 0.86 acre parcel located at the intersection of Atwood Drive and Ponderosa Street.
The site is adjacent to a newly built affordable housing community, has quick access to Highway 97 and connections to Brookswood Ave and DRW. Future connections are planned per the City of Bend.
