The Hawthorne Station Safety Improvement Project is nearing completion! The new realignment of bus shelters is now in place, but will see a temporary change during two short closures.
Starting Monday, March 3, construction on the Irving Ave entrance to Hawthorne Station will close Platforms A and B. The parking lot will remain accessible from Irving Ave. This work is expected to last ten days.
All buses using Platforms A and B will use temporary bus stops on Hawthorne Ave during this closure. This includes:
- The Mt Bachelor Ski Bus (Route 18)
- CET Community Connector buses (Routes 24, 29, and 30)
- All regional buses (Pacific Crest, CO Breeze, the POINT, Grant County)
Once work is complete on Irving Ave, work will begin on the 4th Street entrance to Hawthorne Station. This work is expected to start March 12 and last ten days.
UPDATE: This second phase of work has been postponed until the week of March 17, pending weather clearance. Forecasted cold and wet weather has caused this delay.
During the closure of the 4th Street driveway, buses using Platforms F and G will move to temporary stops on Hawthorne Ave. This includes:
- Bend Routes 1, 6, 7, and 9
All construction work is subject to weather conditions and the expected closure periods may change.
