Governor Brown will be in Bend on Monday, August 28th for a ceremonial signing of House Bill 2017. This bill lays out a transportation investment package for the state, with $5.3 billion dedicated over ten years for roads, rail, bridges, ports, and transit in Oregon. House Bill 2017 passed in the state legislature in July and will become effective in October.
The public is invited to attend this signing ceremony at 11:00am on Monday, August 28th. The event will take place at the North end of Nels Anderson Road, on the east side of Highway 97, across from Lowe’s.
CET staff will be riding the bus from Hawthorne Station to attend the event. They will be taking the 10:00 departure of Route 4 and then walking about a 1/4 mile from the bus stop in Cascade Village to the ceremony. Anyone interested is welcome to ride along with CET staff — plan to meet at Hawthorne Station at 9:50.
