City of Redmond Deviated Flex Routes Design and Implementation
CET is implementing two new deviated flex-routes within the City of Redmond during the Summer of 2022. The flex routes are funded by the Statewide Transportation Improvement Fund (STIF) and will help residents and visitors access important destinations such as jobs, education, grocery stores, and health care facilities. CET has worked collaboratively with the City of Redmond since 2019 to plan the routes and bus stop locations. A CET and City of Redmond Fixed Route Transit Feasibility Study provided data and input into this project via a consultant-led process that engaged community partners, transit riders, residents, and businesses.
Following the completion of the Transit Feasibility Study, CET hired Century West Engineering in early 2021 to design the bus stops and bids for construction will be released in early 2022. CET is currently conducting outreach to businesses, neighborhoods, and community partners regarding proposed stop locations and amenities.

Estimated Project Timeline and Milestones:
March 2019: CET begins collaborating with City of Redmond to develop route and stop locations and bus stop design elements September-December 2020: CET conducts surveys, focus groups, and public outreach for the City of Redmond Fixed Route Transit Feasibility Study April 2021: CET hired Century West Engineering to develop bus stop designs July 2021: CET, Century West, and City of Redmond staff assess and finalize stop locations in the field by bus October 2021: CET submits 60% bus stop designs to the City of Redmond and solicits feedback via a 60% design presentation November 2021: Public outreach initiatives for bus stop locations December 2021: 60% and 90% bus stop design plans completed January 2022: 100% drawings submitted to the City of Redmond for review April 2022: Bus stop designs out to bid for construction May 2022: Vendor selected to construct bus stops October 2022: Bus stops constructed.
