2015 saw the latest addition to the RIDE play recreational and seasonal bus service in the Lava Butte shuttle. The Lava Butte shuttle offers riders the chance to ride up to the summit of Lava Butte and experience an unforgettable view of the Cascade Mountain Range. The Lava Butte shuttle costs riders $2.00 and rides down from the summit are free.
Visitors hoping to catch the breathtaking view of the Cascades can access the Lava Butte shuttle, which runs seasonally and helps cut down on traffic on the narrow road to the top. The Lava Butte shuttle service will operate during Memorial Day weekend only, then service will start again on June 13 and run through September 7 (Labor Day). Please note that CET will not offer service on August 14. The bus departs from the visitor center from 10 AM – 4 PM. The last bus down from the summit of Lava Butte back to the visitor center heads down at 4:40 PM.
